Biomass Energy Centre responds to 'Dirtier than Coal?' report
The Biomass Energy Centre (BEC) has responded to the Dirtier than Coal? report, which criticised UK biomass energy generation as unsustainable.
BEC explains the strategy behind sustainable woody biomass energy generation and why it is an effective way to help reduce carbon emissions.
Crucially it demonstrates that the woody biomass used for energy generation is not ‘whole trees’, which underpins the analysis in the Dirtier than Coal? report.
BEC is the technical advisory service based within Forest Research, the research agency of the Forestry Commission.
